First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion Requirements:
During this sacrament year the children of the parish prepare for both the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Sacrament of 1st Holy Communion.
Of special Note: A PGC'd parent or caregiver must volunteer one day during either the 1st Reconciliation Preparatory sessions or one day during the 1st Eucharist preparatory sessions.
For all Families-
Parents will attend two informational meetings throughout the year: one in October with special information regarding the Sacrament of Reconciliation; one in the Spring regarding the Sacrament of First Eucharist. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be celebrated one Saturday during the Advent season (usually early December). The Sacrament of First Holy Communion will take place in the Spring after Easter Sunday, during the Easter season.
Families will attend a First Eucharist Retreat– We begin with the 11:30 Mass in the Church, followed by a luncheon, and culminating with a guest speaker and special activity for you and your child.
Families will attend a First Eucharist Rehearsal- The children participate in a run-through of their sacrament ceremony. They will practice receiving an unconsecrated host. They will have an opportunity to ask questions about the day and ease any anxiety they may have.
Please reach out with any questions to our Religious Education office and speak to Frances or Ali at (201)327-0352 ext. 208.
We look forward to journeying with you and your families!
